A few years ago around Thanksgiving my relief society teacher challenged us to write down 100 things we were thankful for, i remember thinking that was a lot of things and it would take forever. As i started writing mine down i realized 100 things was far from a lot considering all the things i have and am thankful for. She challenged us to keep this up the whole year and at the end of the year we would have a thankful journal to reflect on. I didn't keep it up for the whole year but i did it occasionally and it really made a huge difference in my life to look back and reflect on the things i was truly grateful for throughout the year. It helped in all situations when i read back through what i had written, some were serious things, happy things, sad things, painful things, joyful things, simple things funny things etc. I thought this was a great way to help me be a more grateful person all year long, i am taking on that challenge again and i am starting today. Although i think everyday would be ideal i am going to start with once a week and keep a journal with me at all times to jot down simple and complex things i am grateful for this year.
